Archive Liberia Digital Anthology

It is important that Liberians preserve our traditions and culture through documentation. We must tell our stories and not wait for someone else to do it for us. This anthology is an invitation to Liberians around the world to tell their individual stories through submissions of photos, poems, short stories, film, essays, interviews etc. If we bring our memories to the pile piece by piece, we are able to stitch them together to gain a greater understanding of where we are headed as a people.

Note: Your submission does not need to be perfect. We are not seeking perfection. We are seeking Liberians who have a story to tell.

Deadline: March 31, 2023

“I view long-term peace and stability as impossible unless Liberians develop a new, more fully embracing understanding of themselves. And, that can only come from the humanities. That means capturing our cadences in poetry, film, drama and song. But mainly drawing upon our past to inform our steps forward.”

- Dr. Patrick Burrowes, Preface of Between the Kola Forest & the Salty Sea.
